A baby shower...with a touch of vintage Disney!

We are anxiously awaiting the birth of our eleventh grandchild, a little girl.  My daughter's friends gave her a shower and I was happy to help with the decorations.  The theme was vintage Disney.  We had fun collecting storybooks from thrift stores and using them for decorations.  I was also able to recycle some of the decorations I had used for the Mad Hatter tea party from last year.  It was a beautiful shower in her friend's backyard.

My daughter found this beautiful IKEA tray at a thrift store for only $3!  I just cut her daughter's name with my Cricut and taped it in place.

We used the books that we collected and made a cute vintage bunting to put around the tables.

As a last minute addition, I fashioned some bows from the extra pages.  I placed these on each corner of the tables.

Some of the extra special pages we mounted onto cardstock that had been preprinted with a whimsical frame.  I used the placecard holders from my son's wedding to display them.  I love the covers of the old Reader's Digest books!

We placed the beverage containers on a variety of metal tins to go along with the eclectic decor.

One of her friends carved this cute Mickey Mouse watermelon.

I didn't snap a picture of the desserts before they began serving them, but they were gorgeous trifles, and so delicious!

The happy mom-to-be with two of her good friends.

I really appreciate all of the hard work given by her friends to make this shower extra special!

I like to link to these great parties!

    1. Thanks Beth, but I'm the lucky one since they keep giving me grandkids! Summer has been wonderful so far with the best yet to come...a visit to the grandkids in Southern California and a day together at Disneyland! It looks like you have been spending lots of fun days on the lake this summer. I hope all is well and that your son is safe as he fights the fires!
